The most advanced and celebrated mind of the 20th Century, without a doubt, is attributed to Albert Einstein. This interesting book allows us to explore his beliefs, philosophical ideas, and opinions on many subjects. Subjects include politics, religion, education, the meaning of life, Jewish issues, the world economy, peace and pacifism. Einstein believed in the possibility of a peaceful world and in the high mission of science to serve human well-being. As we near the end of a century in which science has come to seem more and more remote from human values, Einstein's perspective is indispensable.

File Size : 52.17 MB
Format : PDF, Docs

In The World As I See It, Shelly Hill seeks to encourage each of us to find God’s personal message for us. This fully illustrated guide explains that life is more than experiencing the world through television and the Internet. It’s about developing a personal relationship with God as you live the moments of each day. Every life has times of joy and times of sorrow, and the balance between the light and the darkness depends upon the filter through which you choose to look and live your life. If you see events through the filter of God’s love, then the shadows of the bad times can serve to draw your eyes to the beauty of His blessings in your life.
The World As I See It focuses on the moments that encourage you to find God’s personal message for you through beautiful color photographs that illustrate the carefully chosen words and thoughts in this helpful and inspiring guide to life.

Love remembers the little things discounted by the world.
Love waits, not because it’s convenient but because it’s sometimes necessary.
Love has time when life is too busy.
Love gives without calculating the risks.
Love blooms only when it is shared.

People will be interested in this book because it offers insight and a different look at the cycle of life and death and why they are never ending. The who, what, where and why are just fill-ins for the curious, but logical questions and answers that we ponder as humans. I hope to take it further by examining the meaning behind the meaning. The possibilities and the consequences of ignoring the very basis of not just life, but the survival of humanity that we are not here by some kind of accident in the cosmos. What happens and transpires when people no longer feel a purpose to life and this feeling causes an insurrection and destruction of one's soul, where not only do they lash out at each other, they eventually despise themselves. This issue is what happens in the absence of God in one's life and how the soul starves while the flesh feasts in misery and selfishness. The absence of purpose which is a greater good (God) causes a systematic breakdown where the tentacles of misery and chaos run wild as one adopts the mentality of every man, women and child. The more selfish people become the less they care about those further and further away from their "personal space" to the point where they do not care about their own country, their own state, community right up to their own backyard. As evil advances the faithless retreat, one grows more and more selfish in the absence of God. Good and evil, right and wrong become meshed together and a vail of gray causes one unable to discern between the two.

I write for pleasure and when I feel strongly about something I find it much easier to be articulate writing my feelings down than trying to explain myself vocally. Some of the poems I wrote when my marriage broke down after twenty years are quite dark and depressing, but there is always the golden thread of hope running through which lifts the spirit at the end. It would be nice to think that readers of my work could relate to some of my sentiments, especially the humour in poems like The Ironing Pile and The Driving Test. Those of you who are grandparents could well feel the same as I did when my grandson was born in 1996, he was the inspiration for For Leo/ And for all those of you with military connections, please look for Falkland Malvinas, To Keep The Peace For You & Me and Thanks To Wootton Bassett. Actually having my poetry published at last is a lifetime dream come true for me, and it will make me very happy indeed to have a few readers and for my poems to make them laugh, cry and think.

The Flame Of Eternity

Author : Krzysztof Michalski
ISBN : 9781400840212
Genre : Philosophy
File Size : 85.32 MB
Format : PDF, Mobi
Download : 168
Read : 577

The Flame of Eternity provides a reexamination and new interpretation of Nietzsche's philosophy and the central role that the concepts of eternity and time, as he understood them, played in it. According to Krzysztof Michalski, Nietzsche's reflections on human life are inextricably linked to time, which in turn cannot be conceived of without eternity. Eternity is a measure of time, but also, Michalski argues, something Nietzsche viewed first and foremost as a physiological concept having to do with the body. The body ages and decays, involving us in a confrontation with our eventual death. It is in relation to this brute fact that we come to understand eternity and the finitude of time. Nietzsche argues that humanity has long regarded the impermanence of our life as an illness in need of curing. It is this "pathology" that Nietzsche called nihilism. Arguing that this insight lies at the core of Nietzsche's philosophy as a whole, Michalski seeks to explain and reinterpret Nietzsche's thought in light of it. Michalski maintains that many of Nietzsche's main ideas--including his views on love, morality (beyond good and evil), the will to power, overcoming, the suprahuman (or the overman, as it is infamously referred to), the Death of God, and the myth of the eternal return--take on new meaning and significance when viewed through the prism of eternity.

As I See It

Author : D. L. Ebert
ISBN : 9780595473038
Genre : Reference
File Size : 40.41 MB
Format : PDF, Kindle
Download : 978
Read : 788

By his own admission, D. L. Ebert's opinions are neither politically correct, verifiably accurate, nor based on indisputable facts. He does not offer references for further study or background for his thoughts. He promises to use exaggeration to make a point, and he's not afraid to offend you. Ebert has things to say, and he says them here. Raw. Uncensored. Without apology. In these provocative and controversial essays, Ebert tackles topics big and small-issues dominating today's headlines, policies wrapped in red tape, and everyday irritations. He speculates on just about everything, from social security, immigration, global warming, and health care to fashion, the cable guy, asphalt, and stupidity. In every essay, Ebert unabashedly shares his views and suggests unorthodox ways to fix what plague us. His goal: to be heard when being heard is often impossible. Ebert goes to bat for the average guy. While his voice is both headstrong and unorthodox, it can't help but be heard. Using Ebert's ramblings as a catalyst, maybe you, too, will be heard.
