Now, Give My Poor Heart Ease puts front and center a searing selection of the artistically and emotionally rich voices from this invaluable documentary record. Illustrated with Ferris's photographs of the musicians and their communities and including a CD of original music and a DVD of original film, the book features more than twenty interviews relating frank, dramatic, and engaging narratives about black life and blues music in the heart of the American South. Social Work Live encourages a constructivist perspective to practice that calls attention to the many possible interpretations and approaches to working with clients. The Bible says in Jeremiah 29:13: You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart. This is such a simple invitation to a relationship that will only bring life and peace into ones life. However, too many times today we find people seeking after men or women instead of the One who can supply their every need. It is good to listen to good teaching from Gods Word but in the end, it is we who must decide for ourselves about our lives. Any other way will certainly lead us in a path away from God. He wants a personal relationship with each and every one of us. He wants to bless and deliver us from situations which are pulling us down. He wants to pick us up when we fall and restore us into a right relationship with Him. He is the God Who is more than able to supply all that we could ever ask for or desire. It is His purpose for us to realize the love He has for us above all else. Many of the things which come into our lives are of our own doing and have nothing to do with God. It is our poor choices or a wrong path that we have taken which leads us into situations which it seems that there is no deliverance from. But God is the God Who is bigger than any situation and He is more powerful than any bad choice that we have made. The only requirement is for us to trust Him and surrender all to Him. In 1 Peter 5:7 it reads: casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. I heard someone say once I dont know what the future holds, but I know Who holds the future. We can rest in the promises of God and learn of Him and we will have success even when it seems an impossibility for a situation to turn around. So when we seek Him, we can claim the promise in Jeremiah 29:11-13: For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. So lets believe in a Father whose grace will carry us through any obstacle and lets believe in a Saviour Who wants to perform miracles the same way He did when He walked this earth. He is as near as the mention of His Name, Jesus.

My book comes from life experiences and the joy of having girls which was, and still is, a challenge as you watch them grow both spiritually and mentally. My home life was grounded. My parents believed in discipline and old-time beatings. Living in warm surroundings with grandparents who were in our lives, and aunts and uncles who also watched over us when we were younger has taught us that life is, and always will be, about family first. As you read in my book, you will see that every day started out with either a Scripture or just a simple prayer to say Thank you, Lord for bringing me through.

On the surface, Mia Tyler led a seemingly perfect life. She was a world-renowned plus-size model and the daughter of Aerosmith's Steven Tyler and seventies It girl Cyrinda Foxe. But growing up under the shadow of celebrity wasn't as glamorous as it's cracked up to be. From a poverty-stricken childhood in New Hampshire to running with troubled rich kids on Manhattan's Upper East Side, she has an incredible story to tell. In Creating Myself, Mia shares scintillating details about her rock-and-roll family, as well as battling her own personal demons: dumping her mother's cocaine vial down the toilet at just eight years old, running around backstage at her father's concerts (including the one where she first met her sister, Liv), and attempting to distract herself from her pain through drug addiction and self-mutilation. Yet this memoir is ultimately a tale of redemption. Mia learns that in order to truly grow up, she must forgive both herself and those who hurt her, give up the quest for perfection, and acknowledge that she is still a work in progress. Creating Myself is raw and inspirational, the tale of a hell-and-back journey from the depths of depression and addiction to triumphant self-discovery.

Arabian Nights Entertainments

Author : Robert L. Mack

File Size : 80.80 MB

No other edition offers extensive textual apparatus such as explanatory notes, plot summaries, particularly vital as stories are complex and interwoven. The Sultan Schahriar's misguided resolution to shelter himself from the possible infidelities on his wives leads to an outbreak of barbarity in his kingdoms and a reign of terror in his court, stopped only by the resourceful Scheherazade. The tales with which Scheherazade nightly postpones the muderous intent of the sultan have entered our language and our lives like no other collection of narratives before or since. Sinbad, Aladdin, Ali Baba: all make their spectacular entrance on to the stage of English literary history in the Arabian Nights Entertainments (1704-17). The stories contained in this `store house of ingenious fiction' initiate a pattern of literary reference and influence which today remains as powerful and intense as it was throughout the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. This edition reproduces in its entirety the earliest English translation of the French orientalist Antoine Galland's Mille et une Nuits. This remained for over a century the only English translation of the story cycle, influencing an incalculable number of writers, and no other edition offers the complete text supplemented by full textual apparatus. ABOUT THE SERIES: For over 100 years Oxford World's Classics has made available the widest range of literature from around the globe. Each affordable volume reflects Oxford's commitment to scholarship, providing the most accurate text plus a wealth of other valuable features, including expert introductions by leading authorities, helpful notes to clarify the text, up-to-date bibliographies for further study, and much more.
