The term warrior' has two meanings according to the Random House dictionary; the first literal use refers to a person "engaged or experienced in warfare". A second figurative use refers to a person "who shows or has shown great vigor, courage, or aggressiveness as in politics and athletics." It would naturally include business and most importantly life. In these days and times it is beneficial for a person to be referred to in both ways.

Luke is sure his martial arts training is worthless. That's why he quit. But when Dirk and his thugs move into his school, Luke quickly realizes that he may be the only one who can save Lucy, Chuck, and his other friends from their relentless and violent gang. Only Luke can make the ultimate decision to help his friends and stand up to the gang. It's a stark choice, and one he can't make alone. "A Warrior's Soul" is Luke's journey as he struggles to cope with the gang, teachers who don't understand the threat, disbelieving parents, and his own lack of confidence. Will he have the courage to return to the dojo and resume his training? Will he have the wisdom to know when to confront the gang? About the Author SR Staley travels internationally, giving speeches and presentations on a wide range of topics. He is married with two teenage children, and is also the author of the young adult novel "The Pirate of Panther Bay." He currently splits his time between Dayton, Ohio, where he trains at the SKH Quest Center for Martial Arts, and Tallahassee, Florida, where he teaches at Florida State University. Endorsement "Staley's gritty and gripping story brings to life the kind of dilemmas today's kids can face on a daily basis. He also provides important lessons for how martial arts training can become a touchstone in finding our way through life. Bullying is a dirty blight in our society, and Luke's story doesn't shy away from the threats they pose to boys and girls, and the adults in their lives. I enjoyed reading the martial arts action scenes, which are believably intense. As founder of the To-Shin Do martial art, based on Japan's historical ninja defensive combat principles and techniques, I am personally excited to see "A Warrior's Soul" illuminate the impact of modern-day bullying, martial arts, and personal growth." -- Stephen K. Hayes, Black Belt Hall of Fame, Founder, To-Shin Do Martial Arts

Mysticism Myth And Celtic Identity

Mysticism, Myth and Celtic Identity explores how the mythical and mystical past informs national imaginations. Building on notions of invented tradition and myths of the nation, it looks at the power of narrative and fiction to shape identity, with particular reference to the British and Celtic contexts. The authors consider how aspects of the past are reinterpreted or reimagined in a variety of ways to give coherence to desired national groupings, or groups aspiring to nationhood and its ‘defence’. The coverage is unusually broad in its historical sweep, dealing with work from prehistory to the contemporary, with a particular emphasis on the period from the eighteenth century to the present. The subject matter includes notions of ancient deities, Druids, Celticity, the archaeological remains of pagan religions, traditional folk tales, racial and religious myths and ethnic politics, and the different types of returns and hauntings that can recycle these ideas in culture. Innovative and interdisciplinary, the scholarship in Mysticism, Myth and Celtic Identity is mainly literary but also geographical and historical and draws on religious studies, politics and the social sciences. Thus the collection offers a stimulatingly broad number of new viewpoints on a matter of great topical relevance: national identity and the politicization of its myths.

I am a member of Christian Stronghold Church, located at 4701 Lancaster Avenue, Philadelphia, where Dr. Willie Richardson is Senior Pastor and Pastor Christopher Bell Sr. is Assistant Pastor. I crossed over from darkness to light on January 22, 1975, in Atlanta, Georgia. I have been walking the streets of many of our major cities for over forty years, sharing the gospel with primarily young black men. Inside the pages of this book, I share with you much of the statistics and data on the condition of the black man of America. I believe there are many factors involved in shaping him into the condition he is in today. The findings and experience I have undergone don't speak to the condition of all black men, but rather to those who were left fatherless and raised by a single parent or grandparents. Covered also is the gross disparity of the justice system, mass incarceration of black men, why black men are attracted to the Islamic religion, and the failed educational system, which all in many ways contributed to the condition of the fatherless men. I have a deep passion in my soul to help these young men see through the hearing of gospel. They can be delivered from the power of darkness into the kingdom of God (Acts 26:18). In most of the ministries that I serve in, my church consists of working with young problematic men. I teach evangelism in our church institute, teach in drug and alcohol rehabilitation houses, prison ministries, and am leader of a team of men called Urban Soul Warriors, a ministry that goes out in the nighttime hours, reaching out to drug addicts and dealers. We focus our ministry work primarily in the hood, which I consider the most neglected mission field in America.
