What is masculinity? Ask ten men and you'll get ten vague, conflicting answers. Unlike any book of its kind, The Way of Men offers a simple, straightforward answer-without getting bogged down in religion, morality, or politics. It's a guide for understanding who men have been and the challenges men face today. The Way of Men captures the silent, stifling rage of men everywhere who find themselves at odds with the over-regulated, over-civilized, politically correct modern world. If you've ever closed your eyes and wished for one day as a lion, this book is for you.

How are men responding to feminism? In particular, at work dealing with the challenge to their power and privilege represented by positive action for sex equality? The 1980s saw many organizations, from major companies to left-wing local councils, take action to improve women's chances. The research on which this book is based evaluates the part of men in the equality process. The author demonstrates the social mechanisms through which women's aspirations for change are thwarted and draws lessons from experience for feminist activism in organizations in the 1990s.

Social activist, teacher and religious writer Martin Buber was one of the 20th century's most important and passionate representatives of the human spirit. Two of his most influential works - The Way of Man and Ten Rungs - resonate to this day. The tales and aphorisms retold by Buber in Ten Rungs are drawn from Hasidic lore, where the various ways in which individuals learn to perfect themselves are the rungs on a ladder leading to a higher realm. The Way of Man is a masterpiece of economy in which Buber relates and interprets six Hasidic stories that offer wisdom for any age.

"The Way of the Tiger Man" by Johnny Kahn is a no bullshit, balls-to-the-wall, irreverent tome of philosophy in the spirit of Musashi's "Book of Five Rings": raw, unfiltered punk rock set against the immortality of man's stoic wisdom inherited from the conquerors of antiquity. In short: "Fuck safe spaces!" and hail to the king. -Ray Long (@officialraylong)

The Way of Jesus Christ discusses the following topics: 1. The symbol of the way embodies the aspect of process and brings out christology's alignment towards its goal. This symbol can comprehend Christ's way from his birth in the Spirit and his baptism in the Spirit to his self-surrender on Golgotha. It also makes it possible to understand the path of Christ as the way leading from his resurrection to his parousia-the way he takes in the Spirit to Israel, to the nations, and into the breadth and depth of the cosmos. 2. The symbol of the way makes us aware that every human christology is historically conditioned and limited. Every human christology is a 'christology of the way, ' not yet a 'christology of the home country, ' a christology of faith, not yet a christology of sight. So christology is no more than the beginning of eschatology; and eschatology, as the Christian faith understands it, is always the consummation of christology. 3. Finally, but not least important: every way is an invitation. A way is something to be followed. 'The way of Jesus Christ' is not merely a christological category. It is an ethical category too. Anyone who enters upon Christ's way will discover who Jesus really is; and anyone who really believes in Jesus and the Christ of God will follow him along the way he himself took. Christology and christopraxis find one another in the full and completed knowledge of Christ. This christology links dogmatics and ethics in closer detail than in the previous volumes.

"It is a very great thing to which we are called, and it is a night much to be remembered when that breaks upon us! But we have got to realize that it is all secured unto us by the Cross of the Lord Jesus and believe that this present stage or phase or position is not all that God means. God means much more than this, so we gird our loins; we take our staff and we say, “We believe that; we are going on into that by the grace of God. We will not linger any longer in this whether it be good or better, which is not God’s best.” "There are yet fullnesses to which the Lord is going to bring us, but it must ever be firstly on the same basis: not on the ground of ourselves and what we are or what we are not, but on the ground of what He is. And then it must be the girding of faith in appropriation and setting ourselves in the direction of the onward way, by the grace of God." T. Austin-Sparks

"The essays in this volume represent a theological interpretation especially focused on the Decalogue and the Psalms. The essays on the Commandments lay out an understanding of them as a kind of constitutional guideline for the life of the community of faith that is then developed in many specific and illustrative ways in the rest of Scripture - legislation, narrative, prophetic oracle, psalm, and wisdom saying. The various treatments of the Psalms focus especially on the way in which the Psalter is a book of theology as much as it is a collection of hymns and prayers. The final section of the book continues the theological reading of the Old Testament with some specific attention to the methodological issues as well as to aspects of the character of God and the nature of the human. Contents include: The place of the Decalogue in the Old Testament and its law, The sufficiency and insufficiency of the commandments, Metaphors for the moral, The good neighbor: identity and community through the commandments, The story of the first commandment: the book of exodus, The story of the first commandment: the book of Joshua, The psalms as a meditation on the first commandment, The commandments in the reformed perspective, ""That It May Go Well with You"" The commandments and the common good, The ruler in Zion and the hope of the poor: Psalms 9-10 in the context of the Psalter, The poetry of creation: Psalm 104, The hermeneutics of imprecation, Prayer and worship, The Psalter as a book of theology, What is a human being? The anthropology of the Psalter I, The sinful and trusting creature: The anthropology of the Psalter II, Constitution or instruction? The purpose of Deuteronomy, ""Slow to Anger"" the God of the prophets, What the scriptures principally teach, Theology from below: the theological interpretation of scripture. Man and woman: towards a theological anthropology."

With an introduction by Metropolitan Anthony of Sourozh, The Way of a Pilgrim presents one of Russia's greatest spiritual classics of Christian truth in an unpretentious literary prose of genuine beauty. An unknown pilgrim of the mid-nineteenth century tells his story of wandering through Russia and Siberia, from one holy place to another, in search of the way of prayer. R. M. French's superb translation conveys the charm of the original as well as brilliantly conveying the spiritual truths of the gospel, which are never bound to or owned by a particular culture. In the much-loved sequel, The Pilgrim Continues His Way, the narrator shares more of his story. He describes his journeyings among the holy places of Russia and his challenging encounters with holy people, the desire still burning within him to discover deeper experiences of prayer and draw closer to the heart of God.
