This book focuses on the imaginative character of Puritan writing, especially as revealed through the use of biblical images and themes. Knott illustrates the richness and power of the best Puritan writing by analyzing the work of five writers: Richard Sibbes, Richard Baxter, Gerrard Winstanley, John Milton, and John Bunyan. Although these writers differ from one another in many important respects, together they illustrate the range of responses to the Bible among those who in one way or another resisted the versions or orthodoxy imposed by the Anglican Church. The chapters on Sibbes, Baxter, and Winstanley implicitly make a case for considering these writers as part of the canon of seventeenth-century literature: Sibbes because he exemplifies the best qualities of "spiritual preaching" (as opposed to the witty or metaphysical preaching of John Donne); Baxter because his Saints Everlasting Rest, one of the most influential works in its time, offers a compelling statement on some of the central themes of Puritan spirituality; and Winstanley because his visionary prose offers perhaps the most vivid and powerful statement of the millenarian expectations rampant in mid-seventeenth-century England. The book concludes with chapters on two major figures of the era, Milton and Bunyan. In his consideration of Milton, Knott challenges the predominant critical emphasis on Milton's Christian humanism and argues for the importance of Puritan strains in his writing. The analysis of Bunyan draws from the spiritual autobiography Grace Abounding, and from The Holy War, a relatively neglected epic of spiritual life, as well as from The Pilgrim's Progress. These five writers, who make up a chronological sequence reaching from the 1620s to the 1680s, represent different moments in the evolution of a Puritan spirituality. In their distinctive ways they sought to recover the original simplicity of the Word of God and to express its extraordinary power to transform the individual and society.

In this book, Evangelist Ella Knight shares the deep, dark valleys of life that God allowed her to travel through. From a rough marriage, severe financial struggles, vicious attacks by evil workers and more, she shares the experiences that almost caused her to go over the edge. But even more, this book is a guide to overcoming the spirit of fear with which Satan wants to suppress us all. Evangelist Knight couldnt understand why our All Wise and Almighty God Jehovah allowed her life to be so hard, difficult and fearful, until the Lord spoke and said unto her You cant lead where you havent been, you cant teach what you dont know and you cant share what you havent experienced. Therefore, she had to go through the obstacles and be attacked by the demons, devils and evil spirits that our Heavenly Father allowed to be laid in her path, to draw her closer to Him. Now she is able to understand, identify and help His people as they go through the attacks that they dont understand. This minister of God never imagined that life could be so fearful, hard, miserable and difficult until God allowed her enemies to come upon her to chase her into the Potter Hands. Now she cant believe the faith and bravery that God has planted in her and the peaceful, prosperous and joyful spirit that now lives within her. In this book, the author shares that journey from fear to fearlessness.

WHAT A POWERFUL BOOK! Veronique Prospere’s experiences, voice, and presentation style are unique, and I think this distinguishes her book from others. God has promised to bless His Word and to cause it to yield fruit that will honor Him. This book is, indeed, a perfect vehicle through which God will fulfill His promises. The book is an enjoyable and exciting read for everyone. At the end, you walk away with not only a biblically sound set of strategies for success in life, but a strong sense of who God really is—it opens your appetite for more of God in your life. --Claudia J. I have exercised my faith, noted my experiences, and used what the word of God has shown me. I used the spiritual process behind that to help give a clearer understanding about how to turn away from the works of the antichrist and his sinful nature, so you could start following Christ by living according to the will of God. You must love and trust in God with all your soul. If you want eternal life, you must crucify the sinful nature and start living according to the will of God. Because if your name is not found written in the book of life, your soul will be thrown into the fiery lake of burning sulfur and tormented forever and ever. You must repent and become born again before the second death comes. It is written: ..". the lake of fire is the second death." (Rev. 20:14) I thank you, the true and living God, for putting the truth and faith in my hands to write this message. You called upon a hand and a voice. And a hand and a voice I have given you. From my heart I have spoken to the souls of this world. I know this message was written to please you, the Lord Almighty God and Eternal Father of Righteousness, not Satan and his angels. I don't want to be praised or honored by men, but if I am praised and honored, let it be from you, Eternal Father, because you are the Creator, who is Spirit and truth. And your ways lead to eternal life. I hope this message will show the world that it's you, Eternal Father, who should be thanked and praised and glorified and worshipped and honored, not the people or the things of this world. Amen.

The Sword of the Spirit demonstrates a very easy method for memorizing scripture while enabling a deeper understanding of His Word. It will change you. You will establish a secure and solid foundation in Christ. You will become spiritually stronger as you face different challenges throughout life in your walk with the Lord. You will be set free from long-term sin, habits, and attitudes that have weighed you down and affected your overall Christian experience. You will develop a new way of thinking and discover that old ways are becoming a thing of the past. You will experience victory rather than defeat. You will move on to maturity more easily. A twenty-year-old has reached adulthood, but is not as mature as his father. The young adult should not be thinking or acting like a child that is five, ten, or thirteen years old. Nothing of those ages should influence his maturity level, or he will have difficulty making it in lifeand he will know stress very well. The same applies to us as Christians if we are not actively forsaking old ways and developing new ways. Topics include forgiveness, prayer, faith, resisting temptation, freedom from sin habits, peace, handling trials, renewing your mind, going forward, and allowing God to live through youjust to name a few of the very basic essentials for a solid platform in Christ. These scriptures will set you free from unnecessary burdens of self that hinder your moving forward in victory. As you memorize and meditate on these scriptures, you will be set free from years of emotional baggage that guide your feelings, thoughts, reactions, and decisions. You are renewing your mind and being transformed. It is what takes place in you by the working of the Holy Spirit, God Himself, as you memorize His Worda genuine new you! Memorizing the Bible is such a daunting task, that many people relegate it to the extremely spiritual and lose all hope of ever applying this wonderful tool to their own life. I so appreciate the humility and wisdom of Tena Marchand and this amazing tool for the believer. Without a doubt, these concepts and devotionals will help you accomplish this wonderful aspect of our faith. David had a revelation of this truth when he wrote, I have stored up Your word in my heart, that I might not sin against You (Psalms 119:11). Be blessed.
