Two thousand years ago, Jesus of Nazareth taught the people of Palestine the way to live successfully. Four individuals recorded the life and the message of Jesus in their books now known as the Gospels. The four books form part of the 66-book Bible, the Scriptures of the Christians. The message taught by Jesus was lost with time and is drowned in the teaching contained in the other 62 books of the Bible. The objective of this book is to remind the people of the world what Jesus taught two thousand years back, as his teaching is relevant even today in making people live truly successful.

Over two hundred years ago, Thomas Jefferson began to carve away at the King James Bible with a razor—an action considered by some then and today to be blasphemous—out of a desire to produce a linear narrative of the life of Jesus of Nazareth free of claims of divinity or mentions of miraculous events. The work he produced, The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth, has since come to be known as The Jefferson Bible. The words and story of Jesus of Nazareth as compiled by Thomas Jefferson are now available in modern English for the first time. Dan Marshall has pored over the Open English Bible translation to bring you those verses selected by Jefferson himself. The OEB translation was released in 2010 by the Open English Bible Project (www.OpenEnglishBible.org). Written at a high school reading level, it was designed with usability, readability, and accuracy in mind. Thanks to these modern efforts, you can understand the Gospel passages culled by Thomas Jefferson in a way never before possible. Learn the story of Jesus as viewed by one of America's most well-known Founding Fathers. Immediately following The New Jefferson Bible, Dan Marshall presents his vision of the teachings and life story of the person known as Jesus, written in paragraphs instead of verses. The Marshall edit is half the length of Jefferson's book. In holding with the vision of rejecting the supernatural, the teachings of Jesus are offered free of mentions of eternal life, threats of punishment, and references to a deity. Do the moral lessons of Jesus stand when separated from the influence of religious authority? Readers must decide for themselves. Get The New Jefferson Bible: The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth in Modern English today. It's the most famous story you've yet to read.

In 15 years as a sixth-grade Sunday school director, Ellis Hudgins searched bookstores and libraries for an engaging, age-appropriate book to help teach his students about the life of Jesus. He never found one, and this book is his contribution to fill that void. A Good Man Who Came out of Nazareth is based on a one-year adult study Hudgins developed and taught at his church. Several of his sixth-grade students provided valuable criticisms of the draft that are reflected in the final text. Hudgins has worked with junior high through college-age students for more than 40 years as both a Sunday school teacher and director, creating lesson programs and support materials for the teachers in his departments. His first book translates the Bible truths he assembled for adult study in language that a junior high student can read and readily understand. Hudgins taught American history for 14 years at Texas A&M and at the University of Houston, primarily in evening classes. Throughout his career he worked in various design positions in construction technology for the petrochemical industry. After leaving the teacher's desk for four years he was invited back to the University of Houston to teach engineering graphics for an additional six years. Now retired, Hudgins continues to teach Sunday school in the College and Career class of his church in Bellville, Texas. A native of Houston, Ellis is married to Betty, whom he met one summer when he formed a youth choir at his home church. They have four adult sons and six grandchildren. Hudgins earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in history and religion and a Master of Arts in history from Baylor University. He completed his Bachelor of Divinity at Southwestern Baptist Seminary and remained there for an additional year of post-graduate study

Jesus remains a popular figure in contemporary culture and Allison remains one of our best interpreters. He speaks around the country in a variety of venues on matters related to the study of the Historical Jesus. In his new book, he focuses on the historical Jesus and eschatology, concluding that the Jesus was not a Hellenistic wonder worker or teacher of pious morality but an apocalyptic prophet. In an opening chapter that is worth the price of admission, Allison astutely and engagingly captures the history of the search for the historical Jesus. He observes that many contemporary readings of Jesus shift the focus away from traditional theological, Christological, and eschatological concerns. In provocative fashion, He takes on not only the Jesus Seminar but also other Jesus interpreters such as N.T. Wright and Marcus Borg.
