Consumer Behavior And Behavioral Biases In The Sharing Economy

Sharing business models have been rapidly growing over the past decade. The general idea behind these platforms is that they offer consumers temporary access to (underutilized) products instead of ownership, which is mediated by the Internet. Apart from its economic relevance, the Sharing Economy is of particular interest to researchers, as prior studies have shown that the Sharing Economy seems to fundamentally change consumers ́ consumption patterns. This dissertation systematically explores consumer behavior and behavioral biases in the Sharing Economy. More specifically, this dissertation analyzes the influence of behavioral biases on consumers ́ tariff choice decisions in a sharing context. In doing so, this dissertation employs empirical and experimental methods and draws on theories from both marketing and behavioral economics. This dissertation consists of four articles. Article 1 and Article 2 are conceptual papers that set the foundation of this dissertation by providing theoretical insights on the state-of-the-art research on the Sharing Economy and on behavioral biases in marketing. Building on this theoretical foundation, two empirical articles (Article 3 and Article 4) analyze different research questions related to consumers ́ decision-making in a tariff choice context.

Many people who have trouble remembering things jump to the conclusion that they have Alzheimer's, a disease which slowly saps the memory, eventually leading to severe confusion and disorientation. But epidemiological studies have shown that people between the ages of 65 and 75 have only a 2 percent chance of developing the disease. That means 98 out of 100 people who at age of 65 find themselves forgetting names, shopping lists and fact in magazine articles have normal, healthy brains. Neuroscientists now view learning and memory as a dynamic process that sculpts and re-sculpts the connections between nerve cells called neurons, in the brain. Every time a memory is laid down, some of these cells undergo molecular changes that either strengthen or weaken their connection with other neurons. When a person forgets something, it most likely means that some the connections have been weakened or broken. In a majority of cases, memory loss is a result of normal changes in the brain, as well as psychological changes that typically come with aging. The good news is that, for most people, there is ways of rejuvenating memory. Over here in this book, we'll show you some ways you can do so.Book Content Includes: Chapter 1

Child Development A Thematic Approach

Author : Danuta Bukatko
ISBN : 9780618608652
Genre : Education
File Size : 73.3 MB
Format : PDF, Docs
Download : 167
Read : 578

Bukatko/Daehler's CHILD DEVELOPMENT: A THEMATIC APPROACH provides a comprehensive, topically organized, up-to-date picture of development from conception to adolescence. Most important, it draws students' attention to the themes that replay themselves throughout the course of development, fundamental issues that resurface continually and that provide coherence to sometimes seemingly disparate research. The themes can serve as frameworks to help students further understand and remember the multitude of facts about child development. Bukatko/Daehler's sixth edition text draws on five themes, Nature and Nurture, Sociocultural Influence, Continuity/Discontinuity, Interaction among Domains, and Risk/Resilience. By drawing on these themes, the authors hope to stimulate readers to think about the process of development, or why it proceeds as it does. Through new For Your Review and Reflection sections, the authors also hope students will engage with the text and become more adept critical thinkers, who are more likely to appreciate the ramifications of theory and research for applied issues such as parenting practices, education, and social policy for children, which are ultimately concerns for us all.
