“I don’t have time to meditate!” Rebekah “Bex” Borucki has heard this a lot. A certified yoga and meditation teacher, she’s taught hundreds of thousands of people how to create simple yet powerful meditation practices. In fact, as she’ll show you in this book, in as little as 4 minutes, you can change your life. After years of suffering from anxiety and depression, both as a child and as an adult, Bex took control of her mental and physical health by establishing a rigorous fitness and yoga routine that quickly evolved into her own regular, homegrown 4-minute daily meditation practice. Bex’s 4-minute meditations combine mantras, affirmations, breathing and bodywork techniques, and they’re designed so that even the busiest people can fit them into their lives. In this book, Bex guides you through 27 different meditation practices, and shares personal stories that demonstrate how meditation has helped her overcome various challenges. She also answers commonly asked questions like “Do my eyes have to stay closed?” and “What do I do if my body starts to hurt?”; provides technical information about props, postures, and mantras; and offers tools to cope with complex issues such as grief, body acceptance, and relationships. By spending just 4 minutes a day with this practice, you will find deep, meaningful, and lasting healing.

Do Less

Author : Kate Northrup

A practical and spiritual guide for working moms to learn how to have more by doing less. This is a book for working women and mothers who are ready to release the culturally inherited belief that their worth is equal to their productivity, and instead create a personal and professional life that's based on presence, meaning, and joy. As opposed to focusing on "fitting it all in," time management, and leaning in, as so many books geared at ambitious women do, this book embraces the notion that through doing less women can have--and be--more. The addiction to busyness and the obsession with always trying to do more leads women, especially working mothers, to feel like they're always failing their families, their careers, their spouses, and themselves. This book will give women the permission and tools to change the way they approach their lives and allow them to embrace living in tune with the cyclical nature of the feminine, cutting out the extraneous busyness from their lives so they have more satisfaction and joy, and letting themselves be more often instead of doing all the time. Do Less offers the reader a series of 14 experiments to try to see what would happen if she did less in one specific way. So, rather than approaching doing less as an entire life overhaul (which is overwhelming in and of itself), this book gives the reader bite-sized steps to try incorporating over 2 weeks!

Born out of her popular website Beyond Mom, Randi’s book is a guide for mothers looking to jump-start their business ideas by finding connection from within. The 1.2 million women in America each year who choose not to return to traditional work after having children have found themselves filled with an unexpected creative energy, but lack the knowledge and network to tap it. With the support of the Beyond Mom community behind you, Randi provides the guidance and the tools women need to find their strength, body, and mind, thus laying the integral foundation to bring entrepreneurial ideas to fruition. Her distinct approach is as practically accessible as it is holistic—a former yoga teacher who also possesses a decade of experience as an acting CEO, she knows that personal well-being is critically connected to any thriving business venture. Because the first step to personal wellness and idea growth begins with you. In addition, each chapter features an interview from the Beyond Mom network of celebrity moms, successful businesswomen, and clients, like bestselling author and coach Alexandra Jamieson, renowned psychotherapist Terri Cole, IntenSati founder Patricia Moreno, and author/anthropologist Wednesday Martin, just to name a few. Honest, smart, and relatable, Randi provides wisdom and encouragement to build entrepreneurs (who are also moms) from deep within!

Ghulam 'Ali Azad Bilgrami (1116-1200/1704-1786) is one of the most significant figures of eighteenth century India, which is saying a great deal considering how momentous that century was. His works in Persian and Arabic are of inestimable value and have been plumbed by scholars and historians ever since they appeared, though Azad's Persian works have received more scholarly attention than his Arabic ones. Azad's skill as a poet, especially as a panegyrist of the Prophet Muhammad, has long been recognized. And his one critically edited Arabic work, the Subhat al-marjan (The coral rosary), is approvingly cited for its praise of India, for Azad's knowledge of Indian languages and culture, and for his literary-critical and poetic sensibilities. The fact remains, however, that Azad is largely unknown outside India, even among scholars of Arabic. This is due in large part to the fact that Arabist scholarship pays little attention to Arabic literature produced after 1517 and before 1798, and to literature produced outside the Arab heartland. Implicit in this neglect is the notion that non-Arabs' knowledge of Arabic is not up to par. This facsimile reproduction of one manuscript of the Shifa' al-'alil (Remedy for the ailing) will, it is hoped, give lie to this notion, and also promote scholarship on Azad and other outstanding Arabic belletrists of eighteenth and nineteenth century India.
