Part 3 of The Dead Trilogy Michael Forsythe might be, as one of his assailants puts it, 'un-f*cking-killable', but that doesn't seem to deter people from trying. He's living in Lima, reasonably well-hidden by the FBI's Witness Protection Program, but Bridget Callaghan, whose fiancé he murdered twelve years ago, has an enduring wish to see him dead. So when her two assassins pass him the phone to speak to her before they kill him, Michael thinks she just wants to relish the moment. In fact, out of desperation, she is giving him a chance to redeem himself. All he has to do is return to Ireland and find her missing daughter. Before midnight. Tenacious and brutal, with the hunted man's instinct for trouble, Forsythe leaves a trail of mayhem as he tries to end the bloody feud once and for all. The Bloomsday Dead pulsates with break-neck action and wry literary references; McKinty's distinctly Irish voice packs a ferocious punch. 'McKinty is one of Britain's great contemporary crime writers and the Sean Duffy books are his masterpiece.' IAN RANKIN

Part 2 of The Dead Trilogy It's been five years since Michael Forsythe slaughtered Darkey White and his crew of thugs in Harlem. Five years spent in the Witness Protection Program with a price on his head and not much to do with his days. Allowed to take a holiday at last, Michael heads to Spain, but he's arrested after a football riot and brought to a Spanish prison. Enter British intelligence agent Samantha Caudwell, who offers Michael a deal: spend ten years in jail under new riot laws, or go on a special assignment to infiltrate an IRA sleeper cell in New England. As The Dead Yard unfolds, Michael insinuates himself into the terror cell's inner circle. He crosses and double-crosses, escapes his own lies by a hair's breadth, falls in love, kills, and kills, and kills again. On 16 June 2004, the international community celebrated the centenary of 'Bloomsday'. The epicentre of events was Dublin where the Australian artist, Robert Jacks, had been invited to exhibit his paintings at 15 Usher's Island, once the home of James Joyce's aunts and the building in which Joyce located THE DEAD, the final story of his Dubliners. This limited standard edition of 400 copies, each with a bookplate signed by the artist, uses colour and abstract shapes to symbolise the passing of one day, from morning to night. The day is 16 June 1904, when Stephen Dedalus and Leopold Bloom junketed through Dublin and their adventures were recorded, for posterity, in Joyce's ULYSSES.

This knockout punch of a thriller from a critically acclaimed author follows a young Cuban detective's quest for vengeance against her father's killer in a Colorado mountain town A man is killed in a hit-and-run on a frozen mountain road in the town of Fairview, Colorado. He is an illegal immigrant in a rich Hollywood resort community not unlike Telluride. No one is prosecuted for his death and his case is quietly forgotten. Six months later another illegal makes a treacherous run across the border. Barely escaping with her life and sanity intact, she finds work as a maid with one of the employment agencies in Fairview. Secretly, she begins to investigate the shadowy collision that left her father dead. The maid isn't a maid. And she's not Mexican, either. She's Detective Mercado, a police officer from Havana, and she's looking for answers: Who killed her father? Was it one of the smooth- talking Hollywood types? Was it a minion of the terrifying county sheriff? And why was her father, a celebrated defector to the United States, hiding in Colorado as the town ratcatcher? Adrian McKinty's live-wire prose in Fifty Grand crackles with intensity as we follow Mercado through the swells of emotion and violence that lead up to a final shocking confrontation.
