Tales of the Terminally Awkward If you've ever felt awkward or out of step with the rest of the world, take heart, you are not alone. I was born with an awkwardness I never conquered nor was able to manage. If I didn't put my foot in my mouth it was because I was using both feet to stand amidst the chaos while I wondered what had just happened. Then one day I made horrible gaffe. I relived the moment for hours until one time it struck me as funny. And I laughed. That was my epiphany. I decided to laugh at my foibles and to share that laughter with others. I've spoken at numerous charity events, which always ended with people asking me for a book. So, for those who have asked, here it is. If you haven't asked for it, I invite you to check it out. This book is a collection of my awkward moments, favorite stories and funny memories. Enjoy.

Serious literary artists such as T.S. Eliot, James Joyce and Virginia Woolf loom large in most accounts of the literary art of the first half of the 20th century. And yet, working in the shadows cast by these modernists were science fiction, horror and fantasy writers like the "Weird

Russians have often been characterized as people with souls rather than selves. Self and Story in Russian History challenges the portrayal of the Russian character as selfless, self-effacing, or self-torturing by exploring the texts through which Russians have defined themselves as private persons and shaped their relation to the cultural
