support poets Got your mouth wide open and thirsty, your cup nearly poor. Take a sip from my cup and fuel your mind fill your void. You have a inquisitive mind, I am sure you can handle more. Like all the great poets and the admires of years before, enter the art and move forward. Imagine looking at life from an angle, congruent to the down side. Does it make you happy that others have been pushed to the side? Imagine life looking at someone at the top of his game, comparing your achievements , and ending up shamed. If the blues can pick you up, so can being down for the count. If struggling through life can lift you, then you know what I am talking about. Got your mouth wide open and thirsty, figure it out. Feeding you this potion, Down For The Count.

New York's urban neighborhoods are full of young would-be emcees who aspire to "keep it real" and restaurants like Sylvia's famous soul food eatery that offer a taste of "authentic" black culture. In these and other venues, authenticity is considered the best way to distinguish the real from the phony, the genuine from the fake. But in Real Black, John L. Jackson Jr. proposes a new model for thinking about these issues--racial sincerity. Jackson argues that authenticity caricatures identity as something imposed on people, imprisoning them within stereotypes--turning them into racial objects and inanimate things, instead of living, breathing human beings. Contending that such assumptions deny people agency--not to mention humanity--in their search for identity, Jackson counterposes sincerity, an internal and more productive analytical model for thinking about race. Moving in and around Harlem and Brooklyn, Jackson offers a kaleidoscope of subjects and stories that directly and indirectly address how race is negotiated in today's world--including tales of name-changing hip-hop emcees, book-vending numerologists, urban conspiracy theorists, corrupt police officers, mixed-race neo-Nazis, and high-school gospel choirs forbidden to catch the Holy Ghost. Enlisting "Anthroman," his cape-crusading critical alter ego, Jackson records and retells these interconnected sagas in virtuosic detail and, in the process, shows us how race is defined and debated, imposed and confounded every single day.

Hello readers, this is a book about the life of a Gangster that lost much in life, and that wasn't looking for love, but just like anyone else in life it found him even though he tried hard not to love this special woman. The heart over powered the mind and before he knew it this beautiful woman had his heart, and slowly changed him. Just like most of us today love blinds us and others always notice the change in us even when we don't. So even though his mind said no, his heart allowed her to pour her love inside and she became the heart of this Gangster. I hope this book will be enjoyed. However, please keep in mind that this novel is fiction, but it is also base on every day events and thoses that change their way of life. There is a change inside us all some for the better and some for the worse, but the real change comes from the heart. Thank you for reading and I want to be the first to welcome you to "The Heart of a Gangster" written by: Keith Porter.

This book is written from a collection of journal entries I kept during my training in California before I went overseas to serve in Iraq, copies of letter I sent home to my two daughters and school that I taught at when activated, as well as some stories that I wrote about my experiences. There are some facts that are incorrect in this book but I kept them in because they were the truth to me at the time. The letters are mostly word for word as they were written and sent. I have included pictures that go along with my writings that help to show, as well as explain, what I experienced. I have changed or omitted the names of people to protect their privacy. I was not a hero, nor was I involved in any large fighting that took place in Iraq. I was just a fifty-three year old man, close to my twenty-year letter for retirement in the National Guard who happened to be sent to war in Iraq. I don´t pretend to be brave or have any deep meaning to my experiences. I just want to share an average story of an average soldier in Iraq. Sgt. Joseph Berlin (ret.)

According to Milton “Milk” Woodhouse, the true testament of a man was his ability to provide for his family and protect them at all cost despite the turbulent relationship he shared with his long-term with girlfriend, Sabrina Wright. The self-proclaimed “Prince of V. A.” played the game of life by a dissimilar set of rules and made no apologies for it. Whatever Milk wants; he gets. Be it expensive cars, luxury houses, high-priced jewelry, and not to mention his favorite past time—women! Sabrina was no stranger to his indiscretions having been with Milk for the last ten years and the love she had for him was unconditional. She understood there was a price to pay to be on the arm of a boss with pockets as deep as the streets he claimed as his own. However, Milk’s constant battle to sustain his hustle in the seven cities and his desire for women may cost him the streets that he worked so hard to acquire as a new hustler from down south, with vengeance in his heart, orchestrates a low-key takeover that could ultimately jeopardize Milk’s reign. Lust, betrayal, disloyalty, selfishness, and greed all fuel an imminent explosion as these events unfold igniting a love and war battle, which ends with deadly results, and through it all there can simply be only one man left standing.

New York Times bestselling author Jennifer Crusie teams up with USA Today bestselling author Bob Mayer to write a sizzling, high-octane romantic adventure about a straight-talking woman and a straight-shooting man... Lucy Armstrong is a director of television commercials who's just been recruited to finish a four-day action movie shoot. But she arrives on the set to discover that the directing staff has quit, the make-up artist is suicidal, the stars are egomaniacs, the stunt director is her ex-husband, and the lead actor has just acquired as an advisor a Green Beret who has the aggravating habit of always being right. Green Beret Captain JT Wilder had thought that hiring on as a military consultant for a movie star was a good deal: easy money and easier starlets. Instead he has to babysit a bumbling comedian, dodge low-flying helicopters, and resist his attraction to a director who bears a distracting resemblance to Wonder Woman. Then the CIA calls and he realizes that somebody is taking "shooting a movie" much too literally. Full of suspense and humor, non-stop action and fast-paced dialogue, Don't Look Down is the perfect blend of male and female, adventure and romance, Mayer and Crusie.
