"Wickedly funny!" ~New York Times bestselling author, Melanie James P.B. Noble is so ready to become the magical Guardian of the City of Boston…until she stumbles across the murder-in-process of the current Guardian. Her rescue attempt is a total fail, and puts her face-to-face with the GoD of Evil, a bad guy so nasty that he isn't even supposed to exist. Guess what? He does. And he's worse than anyone realizes. And, to top it off, his real target isn't the Guardian he just killed. It's P.B. When P.B. decides not to join the GoD of Evil in his psychotic world peace plan, he puts on the pressure by kidnapping her bestie, torturing an immortal warrior that just might be her first chance at true love, and completely screwing up the opening night of her new magical night club. If P.B. refuses to join him, everything that matters to her will be destroyed. But if she does cave to his demands, then the entire world will be annihilated. It's a tough call, really, but what's an overmatched, undertrained interim Guardian to do? Go for the option he didn't offer, which is to align with a slightly demented werewolf, recruit her all-too-human celebrity ex-boyfriend, and turn her less-than-impressive magical talent into a weapon. Or die. That's an option too. Unfortunately. AUTHOR BIO: Stephanie Rowe is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of more than fifty novels, and she's a 2018 winner and a five-time for the RITA® award, the highest award in romance fiction.

Praise for JAM! "Breaking into the music business is difficult at best; sustaining success even more so. Jeff Carlisi is both a musician and a businessman, and he and Dan Lipson have penned an entertaining and extremely useful book. Read JAM!, and you should be blowing your competition off the stage in no time." —Terry Stewart, president and CEO, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum "Jeff Carlisi's story is worth a book all by itself. But combine it with Dan Lipson's sound and practical business advice, and you've got a combination that's indispensable for any executive looking to make some noise of their own. Highly recommended."—Dave Sutton, founder and managing partner, TopRight Strategic Marketing, and coauthor, Enterprise Marketing Management "We've all dreamed of standing on stage before a packed house of screaming fans. Jeff Carlisi has done it, and he and Dan Lipson have built a business dedicated to giving that experience to kids and executives alike. The two of them have crafted a business advice book unlike any other, one that will help you find your own spotlight."—Gary Byrd, president and CEO, Pratt Financial Services "Bands that make great music do so with lots of practice, a keen sense of vision, creativity, and the ability within the group to listen and play parts. The same holds true in great organizations. Jeff and Dan understand this, and do a great job of communicating the magic that occurs when individuals within an organization tune up, tune in, and listen to each other playing their directed parts."—LARRY THOMAS, chairman emeritus, Guitar Center Inc. "In the entertainment world, there's almost always a difference between the persona that you see and the real persona. Not with Jeff. He's the same guy on and off stage, and he's had his eyes wide open his whole career. He and Dan offer the kind of practical business advice that anyone can use. You'll learn a lot from Jeff's story."—John W. Mecom, Jr., former owner of the New Orleans Saints

Abiding may sound passive and inactive, but it is the active process of stayingstaying close to Jesus, focusing on Him, walking with Him, and living in His light. If walking as He did is how our claim to live in Him is realized, then we need to know what He did that we should be doing as well. Jesus experienced fellowship with His disciples, obeyed His heavenly Father, was humble to the point of death, grew in wisdom and the knowledge of Scripture, and prayed always. God calls each of us to different tasks, places, and purposes, but one thing is consistent for all of us: we cant do any of it or go anywhere without Him. Jesus had His unique purpose in this world as do we, and so just like Him we need to remain in the Father. His life was a living sacrifice, and it is our spiritual act of worship to live like Him. As we step into Gods light, it will shine truth on our livestruth that is sometimes hard to recognize, hard to acknowledge, and hard to live out. But as we learn to live in His light, He gives us clarity, understanding and transforms us from the inside out. We learn to walk in His light shining it wherever we go. Why? God loves the whole world, and He loves you. Everything He calls us to do according to His purpose is to show His love to the world and bring glory to Himself. As you work through the disciplines of fellowship, obedience, humility, meditation, prayer, and worship, you will learn how to draw close to the Father, follow the example of Jesus, and shine His light bright for all to see.

Naming The Light

Author : Rosemary Deen
ISBN : 0252065727
Genre : Literary Criticism
File Size : 42.86 MB
Format : PDF
Download : 799
Read : 1043

Naming the Light is about places and people, books and music and travel, gardening and astronomy. Some essays examine Rosemary Deen's experience of finding herself well placed, at home in an old house with rambling gardens in New York's Catskill region. Others travel out to remote worlds, then bring them next door through the author's power of imagination. Deen sees human experience as part of a system alive with continuity between nature and culture - its worms and its cathedrals, its weather and its cantatas - all one, like a giant plant or a richly woven tapestry.
