For the Spirit, being somewhat forgotten is an occupational hazard. The Holy Spirit is so actively involved in our lives that we can take his presence for granted. As they say, familiarity breeds contempt. Just as we take breathing for granted, we can take the Holy Spirit for granted simply because we constantly depend on him. Like the cane that soon feels like an extension of the blind man’s own body, we too easily begin to think of the Holy Spirit as an extension of ourselves. Yet the Spirit is at the center of the action in the divine drama from Genesis 1:2 all the way to Revelation 22:17. The Spirit’s work is as essential as the Father’s and the Son’s, yet the Spirit’s work is always directed to the person and work of Christ. In fact, the efficacy of the Holy Spirit’s mission is measured by the extent to which we are focused on Christ. The Holy Spirit is the person of the Trinity who brings the work of the Father, in the Son, to completion. In everything that the Triune God performs, this perfecting work is characteristic of the Spirit. In Rediscovering the Holy Spirit, author, pastor, and theologian Mike Horton introduces readers to the neglected person of the Holy Spirit, showing that the work of God’s Spirit is far more ordinary and common than we realize. Horton argues that we need to take a step back every now and again to focus on the Spirit himself—his person and work—in order to recognize him as someone other than Jesus or ourselves, much less something in creation. Through this contemplation we can gain a fresh dependence on the Holy Spirit in every area of our lives.

The Authority Of The Church

In the Gospels and the book of Acts we see miracle after miracle happening as they proclaim the Gospel but in today's age those miracles seem to be far off stories that happen few and far between. Why don't miracles happen more often? Why don't we see the power of God on a more regular basis? Matthew Wright attempts to answer this question by laying out the radical life mandated by Jesus in the Gospels. He breaks it down into three major steps, building a relationship with Jesus, going beyond the relationship, and living out the mission assigned to us.

The pre-existence of Christ is an important doctrine. But the Church has taken his pre-existence to be chronological. But this makes accepting Jesus's true humanity nearly impossible. Rather, His pre-existence is according to the Spirit where there is no time. This allows us to have a human Jesus who, now exalted, we can truly love and imitate.

In what is probably the very earliest book of the New Testament, the apostle Paul urged his Christian readers to live their whole lives as those who walk to a pace: 'Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit' (Galatians 5:25). As a dancer keeps in step with her partner, or a soldier keeps in step with his column, or a runner keeps in step with her coach, aim to live your life as one who keeps in step with the Spirit.

After decades teaching biblical concepts, author David S. Vanz believes many people have an incomplete understanding of the Holy Spirits activities in their lives today. In Rediscovering the Holy Spirit, he encourages Christians to set aside unbiblical opinions and rediscover the Holy Spirit, deepen their relationship with God, and allow him to guide their individual lives. Vanz discusses how rediscovering the Holy Spirt requires prayer and a close look at the information within the scriptures. He examines the book of Acts as an example of the power and tools available to serve Gods purposes in the past; he believes this knowledge supplies a framework to understand ways the Holy Spirit is working today. Sharing both personal and biblical observations, Vanz attempts to remove many of the false teachings and realize the accurate message. Rediscovering the Holy Spirit communicates that one can grow closer to Jesus and the work of the Holy Spirit through scripture, worship, ministry, evangelism, and loving one another.

The Trinity

The mystery of the Trinity is the central Christian belief that defines God's essence, God's ongoing love for humanity, and saving grace. Yet, over the past few centuries, especially in the West, Christians have either ceased believing in the Trinity or simply no longer recognize its relevance in their ecclesial or individual lives. Written in an ecumenical spirit that engages contemporary questions and theological viewpoints, The Trinity: Rediscovering the Central Christian Mystery articulates the mystery of the Trinity for people formed by modern historical consciousness, science, awareness of the equal dignity of men and women, and respect for world religions. By first identifying contemporary problems with the Christian proclamation of the Trinity in our culture and major differences among modern theologians, John Farrelly, OSB, explores Scripture, the life and message of Jesus Christ, the various stages of the development of Trinitarian doctrine in Christian History, the relation of the Trinity to creation and salvation, the generation of the Son from the Father within the Trinity and the procession of the Holy Spirit from Father and Son, and the meaning of three persons in one God. He concludes by reflecting on the implications this renewed theology of the Trinity has for ecclesiology and Christian spirituality in our twenty-first century world, especially in relation to other world religions.

You can have a deep, personal relationship with the Holy Spirit In The Kiss of the Father, author Julian Adams inspires us to develop a deep, personal relationship with the Holy Spirit. He contends that at a very fundamental level, many Christians are confused about the role of the Holy Spirit in their lives: Sometimes we focus on His power and forget that He's a person Some believers have misunderstood the scriptures about the conviction of sin Some believers are wary of the supernatural for fear of falling into deception Julian shows us that the Holy Spirit's primary role in the believer's life is to assure us of our identity in Christ, which is essential if we are to grasp our destiny in life. He also shows that a joyful, power-filled, blessed life is what each one of us can and should have in the Holy Spirit. About the author Julian Adams is known for his seasoned prophetic ministry, accompanied by a strong teaching gift. He is married to Katia and they frequently travel and minister together. Julian founded the Frequentsee Trust to serve and equip churches by helping to establish a revival culture.

Format : PDF, Docs

In this life-changing book, Dr. Francis Myles introduces the reader to one of the most powerful spiritual technologies in all of creation. God instituted this technology to govern the spiritual, social and nancial heirs of Kingdom citizens during their pilgrimage here on earth. At the heart of all informed spiritual or scientific research is a body of questions that fuel the whole investigation. In the spirit of informed investigation, this book will seek to answer the following questions... Why are questions of regret so universal and common to the human experience? Is there a diabolical and calculated conspiracy behind many of the tears of regret that are common to the human experience? If God is good and all-powerful, why does He allow the evil and the pain of regret to be visited upon innocent people? Why do most people blame God for the pain in their lives that is a direct consequence of their actions? Why are these stories of disaster and regret concentrated in the Marketplace? Why do Kingdom entrepreneurs lose millions of dollars in bad business deals? Is there a "fail-proof" technology for "intercepting" much of the evil that is visited upon humans before it actually happens? This book also contains cases studies from the Bible and present day people that are designed to illustrate the dire need for a "fail-proof spiritual technology" for "intercepting" demonically engineered diabolical plans and ploys to inject suffering, loss and injury in the human experience; especially in the Marketplace.

“There was a time,” writes renowned theologian J. I. Packer in this classic book on biblical holiness, “when all Christians laid great emphasis on God’s call to holiness. But how different it is today! To listen to our sermons and to read the books we write, and then to watch the zany, worldly, quarrelsome way we behave, you would never imagine that once the highway of holiness was clearly marked out for Bible-believers.” In this revised and updated edition of Rediscovering Holiness, the highway is once more clearly marked out for a new generation of readers, pointing to true freedom and joy, both now and in eternity. “There was a time,” writes renowned theologian J.
