This book The Lost Lanes is a sequel to authors first poetry book Poems of Life, published in 2016. As we grow older, our mind starts wandering often on those lost lanes, searching for those lost memories. Our body reaches first in old age and then the mind, because our mind always lingers back on old dwellings of the memories alongside the deep memory lanes, which are lost in the journey of time! Often we cherish the little joys of the pastsmall achievements of that teenaged person, the fragrance of flowers by the side of old school, and so on. At the last moment, our mind does not want to accept the demise of the body. It still wants to live further for children to reach sky-high and grandchildren to listen to their fairy tales!

The Tender and Playlen families were just two of many trying to carve out calm and fruitful existences in a nice place...But death, evil death, came as powerful opponent: The horror and mystery begins when some of the local residents start to turn up dead. The suspects are varied: the suspicious are all present or past employees of Lakeside Elementary School in Saint Petersburg, a small resort town in west central Florida. The story takes place nine years after the end of one of the deadliest wars in history: World War II. The personal problem for Tim and Todd Tender--fraternal twins--develops when their two best friends, Dink and Link Playlen--identical twins--are kidnapped. Both sets of brothers, precocious to say the least, had recently started their sixth-grade, big-shot year at Lakeside. Because of an extremely incompetent sheriff and his under-sheriff (the only law in the tiny town), the Tenders, with the aid of an Annie Oakley-wannabe teacher, are left to rescue their buddies before they become additional deadly scenes in the community's nightmare...

Narrative And Voice In Postwar Poetry

Poetry in English since the Second World War has produced a number of highly original narrative works, as diverse as Derek Walcott's Omeros, Ted Hughes' Gaudete and Anne Stevenson's Correspondences. At the same time, poetry in general has been permeated by narrative features, particularly those linguistic characteristics that Mikhail Bakhtin considered peculiar to the novel, and which he termed "dialogic". This book examines the narrative and dialogic elements in the work of a range of poets from Britain, America, Ireland, Australia and the Caribbean, including poetry from the immediate postwar years to the contemporary, and novel-like narratives to personal lyrics. Its unifying theme is the way in which these poets, with such contrasting styles and from such varied backgrounds, respond to and creatively adapt the language-worlds, and hence the social worlds in which they live. The volume includes a detailed bibliography to assist students in further study, and will be a valuable resource to undergraduate and postgraduate students of contemporary poetry.
