For young Fortnite players, this might be the ultimate reading experience—a graphic novel adventure with hundreds of full-color images that takes them into the world they love best! The mission is simple: Four kids must save what’s left of humanity by crossing a Husk-infested landscape to a secret government installation packed with volatile rocket fuel and state of the art security systems. Then, they must launch a satellite into space before a gigantic maelstrom smashes them to bloody splinters. If it were easy, it wouldn’t be Fortnite. When 98% of the world’s population disappears in the blink of an eye, the isolated survivors, four teenagers named Cody, Sarah, Idris, and Kiki each cower in the ruins of their homeland, pounded by strange storms and hunted by ravenous monsters. One by one they discover a hopeful sign of life from afar, a Beacon, that calls on to them to keep moving in search of answers. In their pursuit of the source of this signal, they find each other and struggle to get past their differences. It won’t be safe or easy, but their survival, and that of humanity, relies on them learning to work together in search of answers. They are, after all, humanity’s last hope. Will they find a way to survive and start again in the aftermath of the deadly storm, or die trying?

The most popular source of theological hope for American Christians is that of Jurgen Moltmann. Preachers, teachers, and lay people reflect Moltmann's influence, with their hope in a this-worldly eschatology and a suffering God. However, an exclusive reliance on that hope deprives the church of crucial resources in the face of global economic, environmental, and military crises. This book explores Moltmannian hope and considers its costs before looking elsewhere for additional contributions, from Thomas Aquinas's theological virtue of hope to nihilism and beyond, in order to encourage the church to sustain and practice hope in Jesus Christ, our only hope.

Major General Sid Shachnow was more than a highly decorated Vietnam War veteran--receiving two silver and three bronze stars with V for Valor. He survived a crucible far crueler than the jungles of Vietnam: Nazi occupied Eastern Europe. As a child, he spent three years in the notorious Kovno Concentration Camp. But his next journey took him to America, where he worked his way through school and eventually enlisted in the US Army. He volunteered for U.S. Special Forces, and served proudly for 32 years. His driving dream was to save others from the indignities he had endured and the deadly fate he so narrowly escaped. From Vietnam to the Mideast, to the fall of the Berlin Wall, Sid Shachow served in Special Operations. He grew as Special Forces grew, rising to major-general--responsible for American Special Forces everywhere--but the lessons of Kovno stayed with him, wherever he turned, wherever he soldiered. Hope and Honor is a powerful and dramatic memoir that shows how the will to live---so painfully refined in the fires of that long-ago death camp---was forged, at last, into truth of soul and wisdom of the heart. "Masterful . . . The collaboration completes the Churchill portrait in a seamless manner, combining the detailed research, sharp analysis and sparkling prose that readers of the first two volumes have come to expect." - Associated Press Spanning the years 1940 to 1965, The Last Lion: Defender of the Realm, 1940-1965 begins shortly after Winston Churchill became prime minister-when Great Britain stood alone against the overwhelming might of Nazi Germany. In brilliant prose and informed by decades of research, William Manchester and Paul Reid recount how Churchill organized his nation's military response and defence, convinced FDR to support the cause, and personified the "never surrender" ethos that helped win the war. We witness Churchill, driven from office, warning the world of the coming Soviet menace. And after his triumphant return to 10 Downing Street, we follow him as he pursues his final policy goal: a summit with President Dwight Eisenhower and Soviet leaders. In conclusion, we experience Churchill's last years, when he faces the end of his life with the same courage he brought to every battle he ever fought.

I believe Christians are not studying the word of God for themselves and just trusting everything preached in the pulpit or taught in seminaries. Most would rather read a fictional story like the "left behind" series, then study the source of what the bible says about this subject.

Set A Course For Freedom is a story of young America on the threshold of revolution. Though the story itself is fictional it is woven into the fabric of actual historic events. The characters are meant to portray the differing personalities and attitudes of those living in that period and the conflicts and difficult choices they had to make. Christopher Hall, the twenty-one year old son of a Maryland fisherman, finds himself drawn into the conflict as his homeland drifts further and further away from Mother England. In this book, the first of a series, Christopher sets out in May of 1774 to find his missing brother-in-law who is a member of the Maryland Committee of Correspondence. Before he can succeed Christopher is captured by a press gang and is forced to serve in the British Navy. The following year, when war between England and the Colonies appears inevitable, Christopher realizes he cannot remain on the British ship. With the aid of a sympathetic shipmate he makes his escape but nearly loses his life in the process. He is saved by Captain Pierce, a blockade runner, and is nursed back to health by the captain’s family. Christopher accompanies Captain Pierce on his next run in an attempt to work his way home. However, a tragic encounter with a British warship forces Captain Pierce to put into port at Newport. There an old friend convinces him to arm his vessel and take up privateering. Christopher joins him in this endeavor which leads to the capture of a British mail packet and information that his brother-in-law, Thomas, is being held prisoner in Boston. They return to Squansett and with the help of local patriots an ingenious rescue is planned and executed. As Christopher is drawn into both adventure and romance he finds he must grapple with several conflicts - between his loyalty to the King and the land of his birth, between his family’s needs at home and the need to go search for his brother-in-law, and between his passions and his upbringing. Subsequent books will describe Christopher’s adventures in America’s infant navy and his growth as a naval officer. Although the U. S. Navy got off to a rather shaky start, it was in the period 1774 to 1812 that we were engaged in our War of Independence, the Quasi-War with France, the war with Tripoli and the second war with Great Britain, the War of 1812. It was this period that produced our first naval heroes and many of the naval traditions still celebrated today. It is my hope the reader will develop an increased appreciation for the people of that period, their struggles and their sacrifices. They set the course for freedom.
