Kim Miza studied English literature at Ewha Womans University. Preferring to work in the field of traditional Korean culture, she has translated for the National Research Institute of Cultural Properties and Koreana, Seoul and other periodicals that introduce Korean culture to the world. With Suzanne Crowder Han, she has translated Son So-hui Namp'ung (The Wind from the South) and other literary works. A close friend of Chang Sun-young from their Ewha days, Ms. Kim translated this cookbook keeping in mind the English-speaking children of their mutual friends in the United States. Her American friends, Elizabeth Gabrielle Kraft Lee and Suzanne Crowder Han, gave her a lot of help in making the book easier to follow for those who are used to Western cooking.
