In 1957 in Liverpool, England, a young lad named John Lennon and his band played music at a local church fair. In the audience was Paul McCartney, who liked what he heard and soon joined the group. Paul's friend George Harrison kept showing up at rehearsals until the older boys finally let him in. Eventually they found the perfect drummer, Ringo Starr, and the perfect name: The Beatles. Told through a lyrical text and stunning paintings, this book spotlights four ordinary boys growing up amid the rubble of postwar England who found music to be a powerful, even life-saving, force.

Keith Moon was more than just rock's greatest drummer, he was also its greatest character and wildest party animal. Fuelled by vast quantities of drink, drugs, insecurities and confusion, Moon destroyed everything with gleeful abandon: drum kits, houses, cars, hotels, relationships and, finally, himself. In Dear Boy, Tony Fletcher has captured lightning in a bottle – the essence of a totally incorrigible yet uniquely generous boy who never grew up, and who changed the lives of all who knew him. From a life distorted by myths of debauchery and comic anarchy, Fletcher has created a searingly personal portrait of the rock legend. From over 100 first-hand interviews, he traces with deadly accuracy Moon's remarkable journey from his working-class Northwest London childhood, through the Who's glory years to the California high-life and a terrible, premature death. Here too are fascinating insights into the history of the Who and the emergent British pop culture revolution of post-war years. Keith Moon was one of the shock troops of that revolution: the world's greatest rock drummer, a phenomenal character and an extravagant hell-raiser who – in a final, uncharacteristic act of grace – actually did die before he got old.

During the 1960s, a bushel of B–movies were produced and aimed at the predominantly teenage drive-in movie audience. At first teens couldn’t get enough of the bikini-clad beauties dancing on the beach or being wooed by Elvis Presley, but by 1966 young audiences became more interested in the mini-skirted, go-go boot wearing, independent-minded gals of spy spoofs, hot rod movies and biker flicks. Profiled herein are fifty sexy, young actresses that teenage girls envied and teenage boys desired including Quinn O’Hara, Melody Patterson, Hilarie Thompson, Donna Loren, Pat Priest, Meredith MacRae, Arlene Martel, Cynthia Pepper, and Beverly Washburn. Some like Sue Ane Langdon, Juliet Prowse, Marlyn Mason, and Carole Wells, appeared in major studio productions while others, such as Regina Carrol, Susan Hart, Angelique Pettyjohn and Suzie Kaye were relegated to drive-in movies only. Each biography contains a complete filmography. Some also include the actresses’ candid comments and anecdotes about their films, the people they worked with, and their feelings about acting. A list of web sites that provide further information is also included.

Diana Murchison Carrico grew up in the small town of Dunoon, Scotland, where she attended Primary School then Grammar School. After which she helped out in her father’s photographic business. Diana then decided that more schooling was in place so she left Dunoon and enrolled in commercial school in Greenock, Scotland. She also did a stint at Photographic College in Glasgow and that ́s when the photographic bug hit her. She loved photographing babies, families and weddings but most of all the pop groups like The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Gerry and the Pacemakers and the list goes on. The thrill and excitement that surrounded such gigs and the electrifying performances from the well loved pop stars was stupendous. She even found herself screaming along with the audience while standing in the wings. Diana now lives in The Dalles, Oregon where her two sons live. The Dalles sits right on the Columbia River which separates Oregon and Washington State in the Pacific Northwest. The area is well known for their vast cherry, apple and pear orchards and definitly a world renowned windsurfing spot. Winemaking ranks high on the list also. Our wines are sent around the world. As Diana said,.."in life, there is so much to write about and knows that we all have a story inside of us and maybe someday I will lay my fingers to the keyboard and realize my dream of making people smile and have them reflect on their own growing up years." font color="RED"font size="3"For customers located in UK and around the world, you may call the book orders department by phone at (888) 795-4274 to place an order or you email us at [email protected] fontfont
