God said, Let the earth bring forth. . ! And it was so! The earth brought forth everything God ordered. However, the earth brought forth much more for those who sought—metallurgy, meteorology, metrology, microbiology, magicology, and the like. And there arose a lot of questions also! Did the earth bring forth secret humor that is evident only for those who seek? Is cryptographic humor related to pareidolia, the ability of the mind to see patterns in random data? Is secret humor related to theopneustos, namely God-breathed; or can one explain it by Divine Workingtogetherism? That is, God working all factors together in sundry times and divers manner to bring out humor through snow and ice murals, ice designs, ice sculptures, stone figures, designer clouds, dew magic, fruit and vegetable delights, land designs, tree art, leaf canvas, flower dance, insect passion or lioness lessons. This work answers these questions with more queries and introduces hundreds of never before seen pictures (untouched, unaltered, non-photoshopped) including that of doughnut shadows, rock wonders, and romance in the air, water, clouds, ice, fruits, as well as vegetables. Discover, from this original pictorial compilation, the probable origin of the English alphabet, skywriting, leaf writing, smiley face, leaf art, sculpting, murals, graffiti, street lights, eyeglasses, snowman, snowwoman, snow dog, The walking dead, roller coaster, dancing, windows, highways, loop roads, cross, and much more. This work also addresses the Horus controversy, surf stoke effect, and several life issues—often using funny images from God’s creation. Finally, this work reminds us that ultimately, everything is vanity. That, we are but a vapor. Not even white, black, or brown mist. Just A, B, AB, or O vapor—Rh positive or negative. Temporariness is our middle name; blood-grouping and tissue histocompatibility type our significant inherent differences.

These 24 studies on specific symbols, images and icons from the Muslim tradition are authored by scholars from around the world. Divided into four sections, the Divine, the Spiritual, the Physical, and the Societal, they examine theological issues, such as divine unity, creation, wrath, and justice, as well as spiritual subjects, such as the straight path, servitude, perfection, the jinn, intoxication, and the status of Fatimah, the daughter of the Prophet Muhammad. Essays also explore the symbolism of physical elements such as water, trees, seas, ships, food, the male sexual organ, eyebrows, and camels; and the significance of more socially-centered subjects such as the center, ijtihad, governance, otherness, Ashura, and Arabic. Drawing from the Qur’an and Sunnah, the essays address these topics with tact and respect from a position that appreciates exegetical diversity while remaining within the realm of unity.

This new book takes readers back to the days when there were only summer cottages and inns at Virginia Beach. In days gone by, sea breezes and incomparable landscapes created the backdrop for excursionists, and the wild country of Back Bay, Croatan, Sandbridge, and Fort Story was untouched. We follow the development of the resort as it changed to include grand hotels, clubs, nightlife, and watersports. Readers are invited to take a walk on the boardwalk of yesteryear and follow Virginia Beach through World War II and the big band era, to the fabulous fifties and the 1960s, when Virginia Beach formally incorporated as a city.

Glass Moon Over Images of Sand presents a collage of brief narratives woven to stir the imagination. In these pieces, the author creates absurd realism the coexistence of the absurd within what people call human reality. This book speaks to its readers with real fiction of edited memories. This collection of short narratives exposes readers to contemplate yesterday as a dream. Romay describes it as something like what some writers experience within that encounter with absence when they internalize themselves into a sheet of blank paper in the present progressive digital world. Unquestionably, that "yesterday" that once was "today" is suspended in that labyrinth of memory. After all, this narrative subscribes to the premise that "Reality only exists in language." The reason is that the reality of this work manifests itself if readers continue to read it offering more than one reading.

This book goes beyond most studies of Yeats to probe the depths of this famous poet's visual imagination. In a thorough and decisive explanation, Nancy Watanabe covers Yeat's twenty-four major plays, analyzing the text for the poetic cinematographic, theocentric, cosmological, biotechnical, and dramatic elements of the poet's vision. She also contributes to the criticism of Yeats by establishing the various ways that the poet attempted to embrace all of the laws of human fate. Unique in her approach, Watanabe demonstrates how Yeats included his knowledge of Japanese religious theater, Victorian poetry, French symbolism, and American inventiveness. Readers of this book will gain not only a thorough knowledge of Yeat's poetry, but also a new way of looking at a widely studied poet.

Gas Transfer At Water Surfaces

Published by the American Geophysical Union as part of the Geophysical Monograph Series, Volume 127. The transfer of gases across the air-water interface has received much attention over the past two decades, particularly in light of increased societal interest in the exchange of greenhouse gases and pollutants between natural water bodies and the atmosphere. Gas transfer at the interface between liquids and gases holds great fascination for a wide range of researchers, from fluid dynamicists to biogeochemists. However, the phenomena of gas transfer, and the problems we face in understanding them, involve daunting issues, including multi-phase flows over a wide range of spatial and temporal scales. Such complexity is increased by the presence of surface films of both natural and anthropogenic origin, which can modify the physical and chemical nature of the interface. As a result, the challenge of working on gas transfer has stimulated the development of multidisciplinary, collaborative efforts and the development of a variety of innovative experimental and observational techniques.
