In this third and final book of the Giza Death Star trilogy, Physicist Farrell recapitulates the function of the 10,000-year-old Giza military complex and recounts the final destruction of this gigantic machine -- a machine that was destroyed by a great explosion within. With the destruction of the Giza military complex the world was plunged back into the stone age! The Giza Death Star Destroyed is a fantastic and technical look at: Solar system catastrophism vs. interplanetary war; The destruction of Krypton; An ancient Babylonian text and a planet-busting scalar weapon; The connection between Mars, the Flood, Secret Societies, and Giza; The tentative identity of the Sphinx; Why the Sphinx is in what was, in truth, a very ancient military compound; Why the Sphinx is known as the Father of Terrors; The loss, and possible survival, of the ancient objects of power; The connection between the advanced physics behind the Great Pyramid and Egyptian magic; A profound mathematical metaphor in ancient Hermetic and Neoplatonic texts with ties to Egypt; The exciting pyramid power research of Flanagan, Parr, and the Russians; A topological metaphor of creation in ancient Hermetic and Neoplatonic texts.

Cranio Sacral Self Waves

Designed to release pain and trauma as well as support the body's healing through a gentle, hands-on approach, Craniosacral Therapy (CST) has become an increasingly popular modality. In Cranio-Sacral-SELF-Waves, CST expert Olaf Korpiun expands on William Sutherland's famous theory of the “breath of life,” an unexplained power that generates corrections from within our bodies without the influence of external forces applied by the therapist. This new theory, drawing also on physics, anatomy, physiology, embryology, and osteopathy, finds scientific evidence that the original source of craniosacral movement is a resonant movement from an energy field in the universe: it is the oscillating waves of rhythm in the universe, he argues, that control all biological rhythms within all living beings. Dr. Korpiun presents his method of working with patterns of motion in the body, including extremely slow frequencies of movement which he calls “Cranio-Sacral-SELF-Waves (“SELF” standing for “Super-Extreme-Low-Frequency”). By following his approach, says the author, bodyworkers and other health practitioners can work in a more focused and productive way, utilizing practical techniques for treating the widespread rhythmic imbalances that lead to physical and psychological problems.

Traditional plant physiological ecology is organism centered and provides a useful framework for understanding the interactions between plants and their environment and for identifying characteristics likely to result in plant success in a particular habitat. This book focuses on extending concepts from plant physiological ecology as a basis for understanding carbon, energy, and biogeochemical cycles at ecosystem, regional, and global levels. This will be a valuable resource for researchers and graduate students in ecology, plant ecophysiology, ecosystem research, biometerology, earth system science, and remote sensing. Key Features * The integration of metabolic activities across spatial scales, from leaf to ecosystem * Global constraints and regional processes * Functional units in ecological scaling * Models and technologies for scaling

Scaling Urban Environmental Challenges

Think globally, act locally emphasizes the importance of scale in dealing with environmental challenges, but not how to factor it in. This major new book focuses on the spatial dimensions of urban environmental burdens, showing how important it is to take these into account when pursuing environmental justice and good governance - whether in the context of the sanitary risks of slum living, the pollution of uncontrolled industrialization and motorization, or the enormous ecological footprints of affluent urban lifestyles.Written by leading experts in the fields of urban development and environmental planning, the book reviews the urban environmental shifts that have shaped todays challenges, and examines conditions and problems in the urban centres of low-, middle- and high-income countries. Case studies address such economically diverse cities as Accra, New Delhi, Mexico City and Manchester, while thematic chapters explore issues including water, sanitation and transportation. The book concludes by exploring and analysing different scales of governance. The editors argue that we should not rely solely on local governance to address local burdens like poor sanitation, nor depend only on global governance for global challenges such as greenhouse gas emissions, but that scale is crucial in both understanding the problems and devising successful responses.Published with UNU-IAS and IIED.

Scaling Up Treatment For The Global Aids Pandemic

An estimated forty million people carry the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), and five million more become newly infected annually. In recent years, many HIV-infected patients in wealthy nations have enjoyed significantly longer, good-quality lives as a result of antiretroviral therapy (ART). However, most infected individuals live in the poorest regions of the world, where ART is virtually nonexistent. The consequent death toll in these regions--especially sub-Saharan Africa--is begetting economic and social collapse. To inform the multiple efforts underway to deploy antiretroviral drugs in resource-poor settings, the Institute of Medicine committee was asked to conduct an independent review and assessment of rapid scale-up ART programs. It was also asked to identify the components of effective implementation programs. At the heart of the committee's report lie five imperatives: Immediately introduce and scale up ART programs in resource-poor settings. Devise strategies to ensure high levels of patient adherence to complicated treatment regimens. Rapidly address human-resource shortages to avoid the failure of program implementation. Continuously monitor and evaluate the programs to form the most effective guidelines and treatment regimens for each population. Prepare to sustain ART for decades.
